Liu Ting Ting (Chinese Artist)

Her work reflect only-child policy in China, with most Chinese family having only one child. Most often they are spoiled, rebellious and self- centered. Without other siblings, they can only play with toys and made-believe. Often, they are lonely.

A Creative Body from Bangkok Thailand

Greyhound was founded in Bangkok by four friends with no formal training in fashion or food, and no grand ambition. Informed by a wide range of interests from arts, music to architecture, Greyhound is nevertheless bound by shared aesthetics.

There is no scientific procedure for discovering the Greyhound DNA, but after three decades of organic growth through trial and error, Greyhound is known for its unique creativity.

The friends did not set out to create a brand but they grew into one. Why "Greyhound"? Because it invokes the image of a sleek, elegant and noble creature, full of spirit and, most of all, a man's best friend.

Started off in menswear, it expanded into womenswear, leather goods and accessories in the 1990s.

In 2002, it launched Playhound by Greyhound, offering younger flamboyant clothes with modern, casual and experimental street attitude.

Currently, there are 5 flagships stores and 7 cafe's/restaurants plus outlets in various department stores in Bangkok. Its products are also sold through multi-brand stores in various destinations overseas - Paris, Moscow, Stockholm, Berlin, Zurich, Sydney, Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

Today Greyhound is more than a brand of clothes. It is a way of life!

Chinese Contemporary Art (Liu Ye . 刘野)

Liu Ye (刘野; b. 1964) is a contemporary Chinese artist. His paintings often depict young girls performing an activity before a simple, boldly colored background.

Liu Ye’s more recent paintings often feature a single, female figure framed by a large expanse of color. Most of these female characters are famous personalities such as Teresa Teng, Eileen Chang, Zhou Xun etc. Liu Ye has quoted Oscar Wilde, stating that “every painting is a self-portrait…The little girls, therefore, are me, but more beautiful.” "Young girls with small bodies and large moon-like faces populate these paintings." He is fond of using bright colors and simple backgrounds to convey a complex story of the characters that he creates.

Liu Ye claims the loneliness and quiet atmosphere in his paintings is related to his own painting style. He works without the help of an assistant, unaccompanied in his studio. Though Liu Ye works alone, he is not without external influences; some of his favorite artists include Lucas Cranach, Chardin, Vermeerand the minimalist movement. Consistent with his diverse array of influences, Liu Ye has no interest in being labeled as a painter exclusively for Asian audiences. He has said that “Art should be universal, and it is my hope that my art crosses boundaries of all kinds.”

Chen Man (陈曼)

Chen Man was born in 1980 in Beijing, China, where she studied graphic design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. She is the current star of fashion photography in China. She made a huge impact when she started shooting the covers for the Chinese Vision Magazine. Chen Man’s work is a combination of her skill with a camera, and her technical wizardry with a computer. She does all of her post-production image work herself, from retouching with Photoshop, to 3-D rendering with 3-D max. She has an extremely strong aesthetic eye that brings out the best of her work. Her work for Vision Magazine includes the covers from years 2003-2006 and 2007. She is also a regular contributor to the Chinese publications in Vogue, Elle, Bazaar, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, and Esquire. Her work is exposed in the most famous Chinese galleries and museums in China. In 2008 she was a part of the “China Design” exposition in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
